Taconic State Parkway at Bryant Pond Road

This project was at three locations as follows:

Bryant Pond Road Taconic Parkway Interchange:
This portion of the project required a new one hundred and seventy five foot span composite girder bridge over the Taconic Parkway to eliminate the existing Bryant Pond Road grade crossing. Two hundred thousand cubic yards of fill was placed , including associated drainage, paving and landscaping. New ramps were constructed through existing Federal wetlands which required one hundred and forty thousand cubic yards of excavation and mitigation of several acres of new wetlands. Roadwork included the placement of twenty five thousand tons of asphalt concrete which included the overlay of the existing Taconic State Parkway while maintaining traffic.

Peekskill Hollow Road and Pudding Street:
This portion of the project included the controlled blasting of eighty thousand plus cubic yards of rock shoulder widening and safety improvements while maintaining traffic on the Taconic State Parkway.

Taconic State Parkway over Housatonic Railroad:
This portion of the project required complete deck replacement of the Taconic Parkway Bridge over the railroad R.O.W. In Addition to the deck replacement the existing concrete encasement was removed from the existing girders and the existing steel was painted all while maintaining railroad traffic.
