Reconstruction of I-95 Larchmont, NY

The reconstruction of four miles of Interstate 95 in Larchmont, New York. This project required the staged removal and replacement of the mainline New England Thruway. The work involved the demolition of the existing concrete roadway, regarding, drainage, subbase and permeable asphalt base under a twelve inch unreinforced concrete roadway. The project also included the rehabilitation of a eighty thousand square foot parking structure over Interstate 95, structural lifting, new bearings, painting of steel and extensive tunnel and roadway lighting.

Also included in this project was the rehabilitation of a four lane bridge over Metro North’s New Haven Lines, and the reconstruction of a two line bridge over Interstate 95 and one thousand five hundred linear feet of concrete noise wall along Interstate 95.

ECCO III Enterprises, Inc. completed over thirty thousand cubic yards of concrete roadway utilizing an on-site concrete batch plant within a two phase operation within a March 1 through December 5 window over two consecutive calendar years. The work involved fast track operations throughout the construction seasons in order to achieve completion, and also to overcome anchor bolt redesign, leaving enough lead time for the Owner’s approval, manufacturer delays and also quantity overruns.
