This five (5) acre landfill closure project consisted of the excavation and relocation of existing solid waste, placement of clean sand as a contour grading material and then preloading of the existing solid waste to increase the density of the existing solid waste at the Syosett Landfill located in Oyster Bay, New York. Other elements of the construction included the installation of leachate collection system, geotextiles, storm drainage system, all prior to the installation of a gas venting layer and a geomembrane under a future contract. All work was performed in full compliance with the NYS Part 360 permit.
