The $18.5 million project for the New York State Department of Transportation involved the construction of a single span structural steel bridge over the New York State Route 25 (Middle Country Road) at an existing “A” grade at the intersection of Route 25 and Suffolk County Route 97 (Nicolls Road) in Suffolk County, New York.

The work included excavation and sheeting, embankment fill, utility relocations, reinforced concrete, bridge and guide railing installation, stone curbing, precast concrete retaining walls, widening and resurfacing of Nicolls Road, reconstruction of shoulders on Nicolls Road, construction of new entrance/exit ramps for the new bridge, and installation of bridge lighting and a new traffic control system.
