Rock Slope Remediation

This project for Metro-North Railroad consisted of the stabilization of rock slopes along various Metro-North properties.

The priority slopes in Putnam County were defined as seven locations situated in Mount Kisco, Croton Falls, Manitou, Marble Hill, Scarborough, Oscawana, Spuyten Duyvil and two other locations north of Little Tunnel in Putnam County. The work involved at these locations consisted of the clearing of trees and vegetation on the rock slopes; rock scaling with the disposal and removal along active railroad tracks; drilling and installation of approximately 6,460 linear feet of resin type rock anchor bolts and cable mesh anchor bolts and the installation of approximately 39,600 square feet of cable mesh material for the prevention of falling rocks and debris on to the active railroad tracks.
