
The scope of work for this project included structural steel and concrete repairs in the lower trainshed at Grand Central Terminal. The work involved: the temporary support of structural steel members supporting the upper train shed; rehabilitation of concrete encased steel members; structural concrete; and drainage facilities, all within the active terminal. Rehabilitation included the removal and replacement of: the structural steel; concrete encasement; track bed drainage inlets; cast iron downspout pipes; and temporary steel shoring erection and removal.
