The Project for the New York State Department of Transportation involved the rehabilitation of 2.5 miles of a six-lane asphalt highway, which included eight bridges, ramps, and retaining walls.
The scope of work encompassed the complete removal and replacement of three mainline bridges, including demolition, piles, concrete abutments, precast I-beams, concrete deck, and one mainline structure foundation on drilled shafts. Additionally, two overhead bridges underwent complete removal and replacement, involving demolition, concrete abutments, structural steel, and concrete deck. Three other overhead bridges underwent various enhancements, such as deck resurfacing, superstructure improvements, seismic retrofitting, and parapet reconstruction. Furthermore, the project included the construction of two concrete retaining walls and six thousand feet of concrete noise walls supported on drilled shaft foundations, along with extensive drainage rehabilitation and concrete barrier installation.
ECCO III Enterprises, Inc. received an incentive bonus from the NYSDOT for completing the project ahead of schedule.
