




The primary objective of this project for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection was the site preparation for the future construction of the Ultraviolet Light Disinfection Plant for the Catskill and Delaware Aqueducts. The project included 650,000 cubic yards of excavation, construction and design of an earth retaining system, the installation of site security systems, demolition of portions of the Catskill and Delaware Aerators, filling of the aerators with 100,000 cubic yards of fill trucked in from the main excavation site, furnishing and installing environmental controls, temporary site fencing, demolition and removal of existing electrical facilities, new utilities including a temporary electrical system for the site, watermain and sanitary.
