
The work under this contract consisted of working along an active railroad and commuter train station of an outbound platform expansion which included: Installation of helical piles, new platform canopy, roofing, fall protection system, drainage system, concrete duct bank, precast electrical and communications rooms, platform widening, new passenger shelters and benches, lighting, fencing, installation of new tactile warning strips, station rehabilitation, commissioning, efficient and effective use of railroad support personnel, controlled demolition, and phased construction.
The extended outbound canopy contained new lighting, communication systems and a closed drainage system. Our team demolished the old single bay staircase and installed a new three bay outbound staircase, new canopy and enclosure, lighting, and new outbound sidewalk. The project also included a new canopy for the inbound platform, including fall protection, new lighting, communications systems, and closed drainage system.
The Inbound Platform staircase required new treads and risers, side panels, lighting and painting. Both Inbound and Outbound Platforms received anti-graffiti coatings, painting of existing structures and new windows for staircases. Two new elevators were installed, and the project also included the installation and utilization of a temporary elevator.
