This contract required ECCO III to furnish, install, test, and place into service two (2) submersible hydraulic grit screw auger drive end assemblies which are used to drive collector screws that collect and transport grit material during the wastewater treatment process at the Mamaroneck Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Each assembly consisted of the following elements: submersible hydraulic drive motor with spline fitting, end plate, mounting flange, thrust bearing, drive shaft, adapter and hydraulic hoses. The existing hydraulic drive assemblies, associated parts and hoses were removed, cleaned and turned over to the plant. In order to keep the facility in continuous operation, only one assembly was replaced at a time. Access to the grit tanks was provided one tank at a time for field measurements; plant operations drained and washed down the tank.
