ECCO III Enterprises, Inc. was part of the Skanska-Burns & McDonnell-ECCO III tri-venture selected to provide the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services to support Competitive Power Ventures (CPV) in the completion of the Valley Energy Center, a natural gas combined-cycle electric power generator located on an approximate 30 acre portion of a 122 acre site in Wawayanda, New York. The facility is capable of generating upwards of 650 MW of energy, enough to power more than 650,000 homes in the Hudson Valley.
The Project included a new generation building encompassing the gas turbines, HRSGs, STG and Auxiliary Boiler. A separate administration building was provided to house the control room, warehouse space, administrative space, offices and shops. The project also included a separate water treatment building and an onsite 345kV substation that enables the plant to interconnect to the gas-insulated (GIS) transmission substation located roughly one mile from the plant site via a single radial circuit.
