The project covers the design and construction of ADA upgrades and station renewals at 3rd Avenue–138th Street and Brook Avenue stations on the Pelham 6 line in the Bronx. Its primary accessibility goal is to provide a continuous accessible route from street level to the platforms and other public station areas, including new elevators, ADA compliant stairs, and the related fare control, signage, drainage, and passenger amenities. The work also addresses stationwide renewal needs, including structural repairs, water infiltration and waterproofing, replacement or repair of finishes, improved lighting and communications, and comprehensive painting.
At both stations, the work includes surveying and design, utility and civil coordination, construction, testing, commissioning, and required training and maintenance materials. Station-specific tasks include renewing stairs, mezzanines, platforms, sidewalks, drainage systems, ventilators, and station finishes, along with repairing deteriorated concrete and steel. The design-builder is responsible for related and incidental work needed to deliver fully functional improvements, while coordinating items assigned to the MTA or other parties.
