Quality Control Inspector (Structural)
Description: ECCO III Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector (Structural) to perform inspection of structural items such as concrete reinforcement and structural steel for complex New York City Transit (NYCT) projects; specifically, for the Broadway Junction Station Complex (MTA Contract A37130).
Responsibilities:
- Perform inspection to various construction processes, such as concrete reinforcement, structural steel erection, structural steel bolting, etc.
- Examine workmanship of installations for conformity to specifications.
- Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities and completes reports daily.
- Prepare sketches of construction installations that correlate with testing and inspection sites.
Qualifications:
Core Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and convey technical information clearly
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, structural elements, and industry best practices
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience navigating company-based digital systems across computers, tablets, and mobile devices
- Physically capable of performing moderately strenuous field work, including walking on uneven terrain, climbing ladders, and working at heights in varying weather conditions
- Flexible and dependable, with availability to work nights and weekends when required
- Willing and able to commute throughout all five boroughs of New York City
Education, Certifications, and Professional History
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Structural Engineering
- Working knowledge of ACI (American Concrete Institute) and AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) codes and standards
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in structural construction or structural inspection, with at least 3 years of overall construction industry experience
- OSHA 30 certification (completed within the past 5 years)
- MTA Track Training (preferred)
Salary Range:
The annual salary range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 in addition to bonus potential, a 401(k) Safe Harbor Contribution, health benefits, paid time off, and more.
